France has been working 16 years in the video games industry. She started on Pocket PC and PDA based on Linux. In 2008, she switched to iOS & Android platforms, creating her first company, focused on AR games & shoot'em ups. In 2016, she created a second company and worked for Ubisoft on a Nintendo Switch title. In 2019, she decided to start a new adventure abroad, she joined Supercell in Finland. She's now working now for Sumo Digital Leamington on UI/UX design for mobile, console & PC games.

Visual Language and Meaning in UI Art
Why and how does visual language matter for UI artists? This session will define what semiotics is and how it can complete the mental toolbox of any UI artist with a few practical examples.
Icons, colours, symbols, shapes, layouts, styling and even sounds and animations: every asset has a meaning. Semiotics helps treat them as a dialogue with the end-user.
