SPEAKER: Nader Alikhani
Nader joined the games industry in 2004 as a Character and Environment Artist, and worked in a variety of Art and Design, eventually becoming an Art Director, and subsequently starting indie studio Pixel Hero Games in 2011. In 2018 Nader joined Atomhawk as their Creative Development Director based out of the company’s Vancouver office. In 2021 Nader became Studio Director of the newly opened Atomhawk Advance studio which looks to support teams with best in class Technical Art services.

State of the Art: Current and Future Art Development Trends
From award-winning visual development studio Atomhawk, (known for developing concept art for the likes of Halo, Call of Duty, Minecraft and FIFA) this talk will look at the current concept and art development processes in games and then explore how this will likely change in the future. The talk will explore how areas like AI will be leveraged for speed, scope and creativity. How technology and tools will need to evolve to ensure work is fit for purpose and, ultimately, the skillset artists will need to embrace to ensure they stay relevant and able to perform in the games industry of the future.
